The development of wiper blade

The development of wiper blade

Although many car manufacturers did not provide wiper blade at first, with the gradual development of technology, manufacture have possibility to obtain mass production, and more and more wiper blade come into driver’s life. By 1911, wiper blades became a necessity in auto parts;

In 1917, JohnR. Oishei founded Tri-Continental Company and invented the first two-stage wiper "Rain Rubber". This wiper blade design was basically adopted by modern cars. Tri-Continental Company also became a leading company in wiper blades manufacturing industry at that time;

In 1919, William M. Folberth founded the Folberths Cleveland company and invented the first automatic wiper blade. However, it required driver pressing a button by hand contiguously when wipe the rain, which cannot be said to be completely automatic, so few people are willing to buy them. The few sales situation in long term cause to the loss of strength to Tri-Continental, which was acquired by the latter.

After the growth of Tri-Continental, a new type of vacuum wiper was invented. It is driven by a vacuum pump to wipe rains automatically, but the wiper blade is not enough stable to keep swing along with the speed of the vehicle, especially when the car is climbing, the wiper blade will stop wiping, which makes the driver's vision blurred. The current intermittent wiper blade has evolved on the basis of this principle.

In the late 1920s, the electric wiper blade technology invented by Charlotte Bridgford was bought by the later auto parts leader- Bosch. At that time, Bosch was working hard to expand overseas markets. After the technology was put into production, the branch company established in Tienen, Belgium quickly grew into one of the largest wiper manufacturers at the time, producing 350,000 wiper arms every day.

In 1957, Ford asked Dicken and his colleagues to design a wiper system that allowed two wipers blade to work in parallel. This opened our modern common double wiper blade mode. Subsequently, the electric dual parallel wiper blade became the standard equipment of the Mercury and Lincoln brands and was immediately accepted by the market.

Nowadays, many cars have been equipped with more advanced technology wipers blade, such as induction wiper blades, which can automatically adjust the swing speed of the wipers according to the amount of rains; It can be said that the development process and types of wiper blades are much more complicated than we thought. Now the wiper blade is very mature, but this does not mean that the wiper blade will stop improving. Maybe someday in the future, the wiper blade will be more convenient and practical and even have unexpected functions.

Yujin wiper blades factory now used the latest technology and aims to provide best wiper blades to drivers, reducing the chances of an accident caused by wet weather; Driving safe is our goal!!!
